The extra clear borosilicate glass (Pyrex) is resistant to high temperatures, very resistant to strong acids, saline solutions, chlorine, bromide, iodine and organic materials. It resists up to 450ºC continuously and 500ºC less than 10 hours.

At VidresWeb we cut glass to size.

We ship to the entire Iberian Peninsula, Balearic Islands and CE. Canary Islands and other countries, ask us.

Holes

The holes will be made by default 10 mm in diameter, please attach a drawing or plan indicating where you want them. In case you want a different diameter, contact us through e-mail, telephone or Whatsapp.

They are holes to pass cables or allow the visibility of a plug. However, they cannot bear weight. For example, they cannot be used to hang the glass. Holes can only support weight in tempered glasses.

3.3 MM BOROSILIC GLASS

RECTANGULAR SHAPE
POINTS - NORMAL
EDGES - TO THE CUT
TYPE AND COLOR - TRANSPARENT
PYREX THICKNESS - 3.3

Extra clear Borosilicate glass, resistant to high temperatures, very resistant to strong acids, saline solutions, chlorine, bromide, iodine and organic materials.

Excellent chemical resistance Offers maximum chemical resistance, allowing it to withstand the most aggressive conditions during processing and application. Thanks to its vitreous composition, it is also a high-quality electrical insulator.

It is practically free of magnesium, lime and zinc and contains only traces of heavy metals.

Material properties
Chemical composition:
81 wt% SiO2
13.0% by weight of B2O3
4 wt% Na2O

Thermal properties:
Linear expansion coefficient: 32.5 x10-7 ºC
Maximum working temperature: 515ºC
Annealing temperature: 565ºC
Softening temperature: 820ºC
Specific heat: 0.2
Thermal conductivity (cal/cm3 / º C / sec): 0.0027s

Chemical Resistance: This glass is highly resistant to water, neutral and acid solutions, concentrated acids and their mixtures, as well as chloride, bromine, iodine, and organic solvents. Even during long periods of exposure and at temperatures above 100°C, its chemical resistance exceeds that of most metals and other materials. It can withstand repeated wet and dry sterilizations without surface deterioration and contamination. It resists the attack of various chemical substances. Only hydrofluoric acid, very hot phosphoric acid and alkaline solutions with increasing concentration and temperature, attack the glass surface more and more.

APPLICATIONS: Peepholes, diesel stoves.

Withstands up to 450ºC continuously and 500ºC less than 10 hours.

IMPORTANT: When taking the measurements, use a quality meter, if not, there may be differences between the measurements that you take and those that we send you.

Glass is a very fragile material, it cannot be very tight to rigid frames. To prevent it from breaking due to expansion, the glass will always measure both in width and height 4 mm less than that of the place where it should be installed. The free space must be filled with silicone.

Important

When you take the measurements, use a quality meter; If not, there may be differences between the measurements you take and the ones we send you. Glass is a very fragile material so it cannot be very tight to rigid frames.

To prevent it from breaking due to expansion, the glass should always measure 4 mm less than the place where it should be installed, both in width and height. The space that remains free must be filled with silicone.
